The Wine

"Returning to Wildwood's sunny verandah after a day of cellar door tastings, you won't want to leave again"

- QANTAS inflight magazine, DEC 2006

Beyond sitting back and reading the papers, Wildwood is uniquely placed to experience the fascinating former goldrush towns of Gulgong, Rylstone and Coolah. However, the new gold rush is the area's liquid gold - the Chardonnays, Semillons and Sauvignon Blancs that are beginning to challenge Mudgee's famous full flavoured reds.

With 32 cellar doors operating as handy bottle shops you couldn't ask for a more elegant garden setting in which to enjoy a lazy glass of Mudgee's best.

Throw in an afternoon platter of fresh local produce including homemade cheeses, breads and Mudgee olives and you have a great excuse to lie about and do nothing. If you don't want the hassle of driving we can arrange a private wine tour at any one of the 32 cellar doors.

"Even if there were no wineries, it would be worthwhile visiting Mudgee to stay at Wildwood guesthouse",

PETER BOURNE (The Wine Man) Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine.
